Large-Scale Structure of the Universe

Date
July 26, 2024 (Fri) 16:35〜18:05

Speaker
Kana Moriwaki (University of Tokyo)

Matter and galaxies in the universe are known to follow characteristic distribution patterns, collectively called the large-scale structure. This talk explains how large-scale structure can be used to probe the components of the universe — dark matter and dark energy — and its initial conditions. It also introduces recent research including numerical simulations of large-scale structure and observational data analysis using data-science techniques.
