The origin of the mass of the neutrinos
In this talk I will explain a possible mechanism for generating the neutrino mass dynamically. The mechanism is different to the Higgs, considering the absence of right-handed neutrinos in the experiments. Our formulation keeps only three neutrino-flavors, all of them left-handed. We consider three non-trivial vacuum states, attached to three different values for a flavor-order parameter. Without breaking the corresponding symmetry, the order parameter condition over the flavors brings out certain constraints over the mixing angles. The same constraints shows a huge uncertainty on the values taken by the CP-violation parameter, explaining perhaps why the NoVa experiment and T2K show huge discrepancies on the values taken by the parameter. With the mixing angles already well-known, and with the help of an approximate triangular formulation, we can predict the three mass eigenvalues for the three different neutrinos. Finally, we formulate the mechanism giving mass to the neutrinos. The neutrino gets massive via terms containing the left-handed neutrino and the right-handed lepton-partner projected over a non-trivial vacuum flavor. This scenario opens the possibility of having either, another intermediate gauge boson or perhaps the W-bosons could play some role on the mixing mechanism, considering that the non-trivial flavor-vacuum state must carry the missing charge in order to restore the charge conservation.
