Electromagnetic Waves Exploring the "Dark Universe" — From Galaxy Formation to Axion Search —

Date

Speaker
Kanaka Narita (University of Tokyo)

This seminar presents an overview of the fundamental processes of galaxy and stellar formation, and the role of millimeter / submillimeter wave observations. After introducing the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), the talk covers studies using multiple electromagnetic wavebands, including surveys of cold molecular gas in distant galaxies via gravitational lensing, and searches for axion-like dark matter using time variability of infrared polarization.
