A Recommendation for Wave-Packet Quantum Mechanics

Date
July 22, 2022 (Fri) 14:55〜16:25
Speaker
Kenji Nishiwaki (Shiv Nadar University, India)

Our macroscopic world — the "classical" world understood before quantum mechanics — is ultimately reducible to the substructure of molecules and atoms, and to examine matter at those scales we must use the "new" language of quantum mechanics. This talk argues that by adopting spatially localized waves (wave packets) to represent particles, many conceptual issues can, in principle, all be resolved cleanly.
