Electromagnetic and other non-gravitational forces are known to obey quantum theory in the microscopic world. In contrast, whether gravity itself has quantum properties has not yet been experimentally confirmed. In recent years, growing attention has been paid to studies that investigate whether two objects can generate “entanglement,” a uniquely quantum kind of connection, solely through their gravitational interaction.

In this seminar, I will introduce what entanglement is and why it may serve as a clue to the quantum nature of gravity. I will then discuss how gravity-induced entanglement can be boosted by using unstable dynamics generated through parametric resonance, with the aim of enhancing the effect of extremely weak gravitational interactions.
